Coast to coast

Not all our achievements are running! we’re extremely proud of Judith who completed the coast on her bike! Well done Judith, check out her review below:
C2C in a day 150 miles bike ride from Seascale to Whitby 24th June…
We headed Upto Seascale on fri afternoon so I could register & get ready for Sat, had a little trip to Whitehaven too. We had a lovely meal at the Kellbank Hotel I think it was called. Alarm set for 4am as I was going to go at the earliest time which was 5am, I rode down to start as hotel was less than 5 mins away weather was not so very nice, quite a few riders all decided to go early, There was meant to ferry ride but due to staffing issues we didn’t get the ride across Windermere, it was wet & miserable & we made our way to Harknott the descent was going to be abit tricky. There was a casualty at the 1st cattle grid a guy came off his bike & his arm went down the grid😢moments later a couple of others came off too a bit further up. I rode more of hardknott this time 😃 on the descent people decided to walk down rather than ride down, it was wet & slippy, Wrynose the same but no accidents that I’m aware of. we made our way along the route I was feeling miserable & wanted to give up the road to Sedbergh was long, Stu came past in the car & pulled into a lay, Boy was I glad to see him, that gave me a boost & I perked up. trying to stay with a group was hard work. Stu went ahead to the 1st feed station to meet me there, water bottles refilled some food consumed, well stocked feed stationa along the route. As the day progressed the sun came out & it was hot, the climbs kept coming & god they were hardwork the descents were fab. I stopped at all 4 feed stations & spent a bit longer the final feed stop in Ingleby Greenhow, Stu met me there & he set off to Whitby to be at the finish. the last 27 miles went Up UP UP & down some, but the finial 10 miles was the worst even more climbing & 7 miles to go & no sign of the sea then all of sudden it was there, turned the pedals & had a lovely faster approach to the finish, what a relief to get off the bike. 14hrs 54mins & 59secs. I couldn’t have done it without Stuart’s support to which I am truly greatful for.
