Multiple QRC runners took on Fylde Runners “Race the Lights 5k and 10k” on Saturday 15th August. The race starts at 9pm, just as it’s getting dark to allow runners run along the prom under the Blackpool Illuminations, passing famous landmarks such as the Blackpool Tower and Pleasure Beach. Over 3000 runners took part, cheered on by friends, family and revellers.
Not only is it a fun event but it’s a flat out and back making it excellent PB territory. It’s chip timed and runners receive a snazzy glow in the dark medal for their efforts. Although some of us pimped our shirts with fairy lights, tacky gear isn’t compulsory 
As the name suggests, 5k and 10k routes are available.

Entries are open for next year with discounts available for multiple entries. Well worth doing whether you’re an experienced runner or new to racing.
