After months out with some serious health issues, Lorna was back in a club vest racing again this weekend, and just look at the smile on her face .
Here’s what she had to say after tackling Mytholmroyd fell race
“Up up and away, over the hills and far away!
Sub-zero temperatures weren’t stopping me from putting some running pumps on this weekend. I was extremely gutted the winter league race was cancelled, but it couldn’t be helped and gave opportunity for me to try something slightly different.
Mytholmroyd fell race got suggested to me, once registered, I got given a dabber and quickly taught how to use it.
11am start, straight into the first climb. I’ve run and walked these paths a lot, but with a pretty covering of ice and snow, it would have been easy to get lost if it wasn’t for the well organised flagged route. Don’t get me wrong, there was plenty of muddy patches to catch us off guard on the descents and a sharp right hander into the finish.
I’ll be looking out for this event again next year, highly recommend! Lots of great company, even came away with a tin of beer! Thank for putting on a great race, Calder Valley Fell Runners.”
Thanks Lorna and well done
Hopefully back on track for you now.
