A dwindling group of diehards represented QRC in the 8th event of the Yorkshire Veterans 2024 Grand Prix series on Sunday 11th August.
Pauline and Robin Naylor and Andy Paterson represented Queensbury again, with Mark Crabtree running in his Halifax vest.
Starting at Slaithwaite cricket club it was sure to promise some hill work, and it didn’t disappoint on that score with over 2 miles of consistent climbing from the off. This was followed by undulating moorland and wooded sections (and great views if you had chance to look around) before a long, steep downhill descent.
In their respective age categories Robin came first, Mark 2nd and Pauline 3rd. Andy, alas, took a tumble and lost his glasses but still managed a spectacular sprint finish!
Hopefully, a few more folk will be on the start line in orange and green when QR hosts the next and penultimate race in the series on 8th September
