The Morecambe Half Marathon on Sunday provided new age category club records for Pauline and Robin, crossing the line at 01:58.49 and 01:58.51 respectively. Pauline also ranked as first F60 on the day and Robin as second M70
They were expecting the route to be a totally flat run along the promenade so they were a little surprised to find themselves facing a long hill section along the road up to the 10-mile turn-around. This necessitated a committed increase in pace over the final couple of miles to complete sub-2 hours. Otherwise, a very enjoyable, well-paced race.
