Media City 5k and 10k

On Thursday (26th September), Bev, Colin,Gillian and Jamie took on Run Through Media City 5k and 10k at Media City, Salford. Bev & Colin ran the 5k and Gillian and Jamie naturally did the 10k. Quite impressive, seeing as Gill rushed back from Lille to make the start line, in true Jago style!

The course is reasonably flat, barring for a couple of small bridges. It makes a great race for first-timers or PB territory for those wishing to blast out a decent time. The atmosphere is fun and informal yet professional enough to provide pacers, music, a warm up and plenty of merchandise, should you want it (definitely recommend their cosy hoodies).

The route is 2laps for 5k and 4 for the 10k, taking in the sights of the Coronation Street set (don’t worry, you don’t have to run t’cobbles), BBC and ITV studios alongside the Manchester Ship Canal.

Parking is easy as there’s a multi-story on site. Refreshments are easily available, even a Greggs to fuel your carb-loading (that’s my excuse, anyway😁).

Bev knocked out her 3rd consecutive PB by 34 seconds coming in at 34:07. Colin, her running buddy matched her time.

Gill and Jamie managed an impressive 54:04 in the 10k which wasn’t easy on a very blustery night.

This race was the last of the summer race series (sob) but the good news is Run Through are organising the same race on 21st December, so if you’ve asked Santa for a PB, try this race and your Christmas wish just might come true.On Thursday (26th September), Bev, Colin,Gillian and Jamie took on Run Through Media City 5k and 10k at Media City, Salford.
