The Heptonstall 15 Fell Race has been a popular race for QRC runners since 2011 when Chris Williams, Peter Hughes and Carl Heron first took on the challenge.
It is a tough and technical course with some demanding climbs and a few tricky descents, boggy in places too.
It’s a well organised race and it has its own distinctive features – a blessing from the local vicar at the start and free Thai curry at the end.
Joe Prest on form and training for the Three Peaks was 25th in 2:20:46. Not many QRC runners have bettered that on the course (shout out to Peter Hughes who ran 2:20:39 as an M60 a few years ago) Carl Heron just squeezed into the top 100, coming home in 2:50:34 and 3rd place in the M60 category.
Brilliant running from both
