Baildon Boundary Way, an off-road, half-marathon and QRC Club Championship race, was held on Sunday 6th April. Setting off from Baildon Rugby Club the course descended to Esholt and the surrounding woods before heading alongside the canal and River Aire. It then ascended steeply up Shipley Glenn and onto Baildon Moor with a fast final downhill dash to the finish. Robin (2:07:48) not only came first in M70s but also topped the M65s, winning a Yorkshire Runner’s voucher. Lucy Cottam came in second for Queensbury with a strong finish (2:19:51). Pauline Naylor (2:21:51) was 3rd QRC runner home with another battle to the line, achieving 1st place in her age group. Over the challenging 13.6 miles, and 1250’ of ascent, other QRC runners demonstrated strong running: Carole Fryer (2:23:03), Carl Mitchell ( 2:36:03) and Martin Sellars (2:36:25)
